Garden Village’s location allows easy access to several parks, all within minutes of home.  Many parks offer summer programs and indoor gyms as well.

Colonial Oaks Park, 5300 Colonial Oaks Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34232:  Colonial Oaks Parks is less than a 7-minute drive from Garden Village.  This dog-friendly park sits on over 23 acres and offers a large children’s playground, restrooms, tennis and basketball courts.  You can also find the perfect shade tree for a picnic or grill something for a small gathering. Colonial Oaks Park also has indoor facilities that support exercise classes, such as yoga, cardio and more.  Summer camps will keep the kids active when school is out of session.

Fruitville Park, 5151 Richardson Rd, Sarasota, FL 34232.  This neighborhood park has fitness trails, two lighted softball fields, lighted tennis courts, and soccer fields. There is also a small picnic shelter and restrooms.

Beaches Close to Garden Village in Sarasota

Bradenton Wood-Tower-White-SandSiesta Key Beach, 948 Beach Road, is ranked in the top 5 best beaches in the US.  This is a full facility beach, with a concession stand, water sports, changing facilities and more. This area draws a large crowd, especially during winter months. Come early for a good spot and grab lunch somewhere on the island.

Turtle Beach, is located on the southern end of Siesta Key on Midnight Pass Road. Normally less crowded than Siesta Key Beach: Turtle beach offers a children’s playground, paved walking paths, a boat ramp, kayak launch, picnic areas, and nearby campground.  Although Turtle Beach does not have a concession stand, there are two restaurants located across the street from the main entrance.  Drive time from Garden Village will be approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day.
